AI LUPI AI LUPI! Chiamata agli artisti

PENNELLI RIBELLI per la sua terza edizione del festival, lancia la sua prima call, rivolta a tutti gli artisti, senza limiti di età, che si occupano di illustrazione, grafica, fotografia e street art.

Pennelli Ribelli è un festival che vive nel contesto della vallata del Reno, sull’Appennino Bolognese, facendo centro nella realtà di Marzabotto e quindi nel contesto storico che rende questo luogo un riferimento immediato alle stragi del 1944 ma anche ad una resistenza di grande intensità contro il fascismo e la connessa occupazione nazista.

Pennelli Ribelli, a partire dal 2018, ha sempre operato nel contesto della comunità locale, e, spinti da questo motore, utilizza il linguaggio dell’arte come mezzo di riscoperta della memoria e di connettore tra le persone.

TEMA DELLA CALL

Dal 2018, abbiamo utilizzato l’immagine del lupo, ispirata dal nome di battaglia di Mario Musolesi, a lungo comandante della Brigata Stella Rossa, protagonista della lotta partigiana nella valle del Reno.

Insomma è più che mai importante essere uniti in branco, dove “la forza del branco è il lupo, il branco del lupo è la forza” (Il libro della giungla, Rudyard Kipling, 1894).

Il nostro “bisogno di collettivo” non può che fare riferimento alla necessità di reagire collettivamente, ieri, alla perdita della libertà, all’occupazione, alle stragi, mentre oggi ai rischi di perdita della libertà, all’omologazione, all’assimilazione, ma anche alle stragi che si consumano più lontano ma ci che investono esattamente come allora.

Qualunque sia il motivo, noi tendiamo a stare insieme, anche perché in gruppo otteniamo qualcosa che singolarmente non ci riesce così bene.

Dobbiamo recuperare un noi, per sconfiggere un individualismo e una indifferenza che sta uccidendo la società.

Un buon gruppo, un buon branco è ben coeso se i suoi membri sentono di assomigliarsi e si danno supporto reciproco, percepiscono l’importanza del proprio ruolo per tutto il gruppo, condividono l’azione di gruppo.

Durante il periodo di chiusura totale, il concetto di collettività si è fatto più forte in ognuno di noi, per questo Pennelli Ribelli vuole racchiudere questo pensiero e chiedere a tutti gli artisti di immedesimarsi come lupi in un branco, e dare il loro miglior contributo per creare una mostra collettiva ma anche una festa per ricordare l’importanza di riconquistare la libertà stando uniti.

REQUISITI PER LA PARTECIPAZIONE

La call è aperta a tutti, la partecipazione è gratuita e può avvenire singolarmente o in gruppo.

MODALITA’ DI PARTECIPAZIONE

Ciascun candidato o gruppo può partecipare proponendo una sola opera in formato digitale, pdf o jpg in alta risoluzione (300 dpi) e inviarla alla mail infopennelliribelli@gmail.com con Oggetto: AI LUPI AI LUPI!, entro e non oltre il 2 Dicembre.

Le opere possono essere a colori o in bianco e nero, possono essere realizzate con qualsiasi tecnica e devono rispettare la dimensione A3 (29x42cm). Il file deve essere nominato con NOME, TITOLO OPERA.

ESCLUSIONE

I progetti verranno esclusi se perverranno oltre i termini di consegna e se non saranno conformi alle specifiche tecniche richieste.

SELEZIONE

I lavori selezionati saranno noti entro una settimana dalla chiusura del bando e verranno annunciati nei nostri canali social.

Una giuria di esperti selezionerà 15 lavori che verranno stampati a spese dell’associazione, sarà allestita una mostra in data e luogo ancora da definire. La mostra avrà la durata di 2 settimane.

Ad ogni artista selezionato verrà donato un shopper contenente gadget e catalogo della mostra.

AI LUPI AI LUPI! Call to artists

PENNELLI RIBELLI for its festival third edition, launches its first call. It is aimed at all artists who deal with illustration, graphics, photography and street art. There are no age limits.
Pennelli Ribelli is a festival that lives in the context of the Reno valley, on the Bolognese Apennines. It is based in Marzabotto and therefore in the historical context that makes this place an immediate reference to the 1944 massacres but also to a very intense resistance against fascism and the related Nazi occupation.
Since 2018 Pennelli Ribelli has always operated in the context of the local community. The energy produced by this context pushes us to use the language of art as a way to rediscover memory and as a connector between people.

CALL THEME

Since 2018, we have been using the image of the wolf. It was inspired by the battle name of Mario Musolesi. He was for a long time commander of the Red Star Brigade, this unit was protagonist of the partisan struggle in the Rhine valley.
In short, it is more important than ever to be united in a pack, where “the strength of the pack is the wolf, the pack of the wolf is the strength” (The Jungle Book, Rudyard Kipling, 1894).
Our “need for collective” derives from the need in the past to react collectively to the loss of freedom, the Nazi occupation, the massacres. But still today there is the need to respond as a herd to the risks of loss of freedom, to homologation, to assimilation, but also to the massacres that are consumed further away but which invest us exactly as then.
Whatever the is reason, we tend to be together, also because as a group we can get something that individually we could not reach.
We have to recover an us in order to defeat the individualism and indifference that are killing society.
A good group, a good pack is well cohesive if its members feel they are alike. They give each other mutual support, they perceive the importance of their role for the whole group. They share the action of the pack.
During the lockdown period, the concept of collectivity grew stronger in each of us. This is why Pennelli Ribelli wants to enclose this thought and ask all artists to identify themselves as wolves in a pack. We ask you to give your best contribution to create a group exhibition but also a party to remember the importance of regaining freedom by being united.

REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION

The call is open to everybody. Participation is free and can take place individually or in groups.

PARTICIPATION METHOD

Each candidate or group can participate by proposing a single work in digital format, pdf or jpg in high resolution (300 dpi) and send it to the email infopennelliribelli@gmail.com with Subject: AI LUPI AI LUPI! No later than the 2nd of December.
The works can be in color or black and white, they can be made with any technique and must respect the A3 size (29x42cm). The file must be named with NAME, WORK TITLE.

EXCLUSION

Projects will be excluded if they will arrive after the delivery deadlines and if they will not comply with the required technical specifications.

SELECTION

Selected works will be known within one week from the closing of the call and will be announced on our social channels.
A jury of experts will select 15 works that will be printed at the association’s expense. An exhibition will be set up date and place yet to be determinate. The exhibition will last 2 weeks.
Each selected artist will be given a gift bag containing gadgets and the exibition catalog.
